Proceeds benefit the local veterinarians and rescue groups that work selflessly to remove the abandoned dog population and place them in loving, "furever" homes here and across the USA and Canada.  The event also serves to educate local dog owners as to the best behavior as a pet owner to ensure their pet leads a long, healthy, happy life.
